Hello, I am Malcolm,
I was born in 1947 into a Methodist family We lived in Cirencester, in Gloucestershire. and at the age of 17 became a member of Ashcroft Methodist Church.
In 1969 I met Pippa. We were married in 1972 and moved to Norfolk, to Fakenham. Two years later we moved to Stibbard. We now have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. I am a self-employed electrician and a model railway designer and builder. We have a large garden so we can have a ride-on miniature railway.
In 1991 I heard about the plight of the Romanian children. I went after a push from God. Little did I know how big a step I was about to take.
It was life-changing to learn to be humble and love the unlovable. I came home after the 2 week duration confused. God was calling me to become a local preacher. I had a bumpy training, but qualified after 5 years.
I am still going to Romania. Now we have our own charity, Helping Hands North Norfolk.
I am enjoying my pastoral work in the village and locality.
I had a vision to remodel our dark out-dated Methodist chapel and turn the building into a modern worship centre with computer-controlled projector system, and a coffee area and kitchen.
Where will God take me next? I wait to see, but it will be good.
Malcolm Cook
